Bulgarian Folk Dances

My name is Antonio. I'm a dancer in a Folklor Dance Formation "Zagorovche".
I first started dancing when I was only 6. Since then I've never stopped dancing.
Folklore dances are very important for us because they connect the people of Bulgaria with the traditions of our country and they teach us to respect what has been left to us from our ancestors, and to save the heritage for the future. In this way we, the dancers, have become the real connection between the different generations. As modern citizens of the world, we are proud to be descendants of such an ancient nation, we are proud that their blood runs in our veins. Exactly this is the feeling when we stand on the stage and start dancing - tradition, dance, rhythm, music, love.
The Bulgarian Folk music always makes my skin prick, especially when I'm on the stage. It fills me with adrenalin, gives me energy and, what is most important, music is that always reminds me where Bulgaria is whichever part of the world I am. The audience likes the fast dances or the ones which are connected with our history.
For these 10 years our Formation has taken part in a lot, a lot of shows, festivals, concerts, and competitions not only in our country but in whole Europe. We, all members of the Formation, are very good friends and that's the reason to have a great time when we go somewhere together.

Ballet - my passion

Classical ballet is a dance full of beauty. While watching the gentle movements you might feel relaxed and peaceful. The fairy music and the grace of the dance can take you to a magical world full of harmony and happiness. The ballet dancers seem as if they do all this quite easily but the truth is that all the grace and beauty are the result after a lot of hard work and practice.
