Final Products
The final products of our project will thus be:
- several issues of the magazine
- presentation at our schools
- dissemination to the local community
- a wide range of benefits with respect to pedagogy since:
- students learn about cultures of the participating schools
- they explore topics they find interesting, develop their interests
- students develop and practice the skill of writing interesting articles
- they become less afraid of being criticized and express their opinion more openly
- students learn constructive criticism
- they apply to copy rights while preparing their articles
- students use various tools to prepare the articles
- they spontaneously initiate communication with other participants of the project

A variety of means and tools are to be used, such as:

Process
The course of our actions is planned as follows:
1st month-October 2010
- Create the groups of pupils in each school
- Bonding of the group members through experiential activities (icebreakers etc)
2nd month-November 2010
- Brainstorming for the magazine’s name and the frequency of issues released
- the participants learn to operate TwinSpace and acquire user names and passwords
- publishing of information about their schools, cities and counties (1st Issue: About Our Schools)
An issue per month (until June 2011)
- At the main stage students write their articles and submit them to the teachers, who check the works and approve of them. When ready articles are published. In particular:
1st step
- Discussion over the choice of topics to be covered
- Sub-groups with common topics
- Plan of work
- Assigning tasks
2nd step
- Presentation of the first draft
- Discussion-editing
3rd step
- Presentation of the final form of the text
- Error correction
- the articles are available to participants of the project and their guests.
- The authors of articles (from any issue) and editors (teachers) are entitled to comment all the articles.
- To sum up the project (at the end of the school year) the special issue is released concerning personal experience of the project by participants.
- The incorporation of the project in the educational process will take place by covering everyday school events and the cross-curricular approach, according to which subjects such as English and national languages, ICT and any other subjects relevant to the topics of each article will be involved in producing our stories.
Our Goals
In particular, our objectives are, in terms of :
1. Knowledge: Our pupils to learn how to :
· read and write texts belonging to different literary genres, in a variety of communicative situations
and to practice
· reading and writing skills in English
· using ICT
2. Skills: The pupils should be able to
· Read in an active way and write creatively
· ‘Learn-how-to-learn’ working individually (eg decision making process, research on the internet, bibliography, questionnaires)
· Process the data they gather
· Make their own assumptions
· Collaborate in a democratic way with the other team members
· Develop their imagination and creativity
1. Attitudes: The pupils to acquire a positive attitude towards:
· Different cultures of children of the same age
· The European dimension of education
· Expanding their horizons
· Reading extra-curricular texts/books
· Their own self (boost their self-esteem) and encouragement of constructive criticism
· Respect for copy rights
